Utah State picked up a verbal commitment this morning from Grossmont Community College (CA) defensive end Rock Gonzalez. Gonzalez is a 6-foot-2 248-pound incoming junior and will join the Aggies for the 2022 season as a preferred walk-on. He has three years to complete his final two seasons of eligibility. As a sophomore last season, Gonzales played in 7 games and totaled 36 tackles, 9.0 tackles-for-loss, 4.0 sacks, and 1 fumble recovery. He chose to come and compete for the Aggies over scholarship offers from Adams State, Black Hills State, Iowa Wesleyan, and New Mexico Highlands. Gonzalez should arrive on campus at Utah State this weekend or early next week.
