Utah State picked up a verbal commitment this morning from Tyler Junior College (TX) cornerback Davon Martin. Martin was in Logan Saturday night on his official visit and witnessed firsthand the Aggies 35-31 bowl eligibility-clinching win over San Jose State. Martin is a 6 foot 2 185-pound sophomore who boasts a 6 foot 6 wingspan, will join the Aggies for the 2023 season, and will enroll in time for spring football. He will have three years to complete his final two seasons of eligibility. Martin had a lockdown season for the Apaches logging 15 tackles and 20 pass breakups, while not allowing a single reception the entire season. Prior to joining the Apaches for the 2022 season, Martin began his collegiate career at Middle Tennessee State where he spent two seasons. Martin held offers from Austin Peay, Charlotte, Eastern Kentucky, McNeese State, New Mexico State, and Texas Southern. Martin has concluded his season at Tyler and is looking forward to joining the Aggies.
