Utah State has received a verbal commitment from Hutchinson Community College (KS) free safety Malik McConico. McConico is a 6-foot-2 195-pound redshirt freshman who has three years of eligibility remaining. He will join the Aggies for the 2024 season. McConico’s decision comes just one day after spending time on campus for his official visit. In 11 games last year for the Blue Dragosn, he was credited with 32 tackles, 0.5 tackles-for-loss, 4 interceptions, and 2 pass breakups.

McConico chose the Aggies over offers from Akron, Alabama State, Ball State, Eastern Kentucky, Eastern Michigan, Northern Iowa, and Southeast Missouri State.

McConico is the Aggies eleventh addition to the team following the conclusion of spring ball joining Iowa Central Community College (IA) defensive tackle Isaiah Bruce, boise state university quarterback CJ Tiller, Purdue University linebacker Clyde Washington, New Mexico State University cornerback Andre Seldon Jr., University of Charlotte wide receiver Jack Hestera, Arizona State University quarterback Jacob Conover, Lenoir-Rhyne University linebacker Jon Ross Maye, Limestone University defensive tackle Collin Vaughn, Washington State EDGE rush defensive end Lawrence Falatea, and Stanford University EDGE rush defensive end Aaron Armitage.
