The Aggies played their annual FCS game last Saturday and came away with a convincing 48-7 home win. Now it’s time to hand out this week’s game balls.

My offensive game ball will go to senior quarterback Bryson Barnes. Barnes put on an incredible performance Saturday night, completing 19 of his 27 passes for 293 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception, while also toting the rock 13 times for 128 yards and two more touchdowns. Barnes showed off his sound decision-making skills in the run/pass option game, completing passes to eight different receivers.

I will also add a second offensive game ball this week; this one will go to the Aggie offensive line. Senior left tackle Jack Eichorn, junior right guard Tave Motu’apuaka, junior left guard George Maile, sophomore right tackle JR Sia, and sophomore center Jimmy Liston were dominant all night long at the line of scrimmage, creating a sound pocket for quarterback Bryson Barnes and allowing him to complete 19 of 27 passes for 293 yards (70.4%), for three touchdowns, one interception and allowing just one sack. This group also paved the way for 334 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 47 carries.

My defensive game ball for the second straight week will go to sophomore, more EDGE rush defensive end Will Holmes. Holmes pulled down 5 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles for a total of 7 tackles. Holmes posted career-highs in tackles-for-loss with 3 AND sacks with 2.0. Holmes also added a quarterback hurry.

I will also add a second defensive game ball this week; this one will go to junior inside linebacker Bronson Olevao. Olevao pulled down 2 solo tackles and was in on 7 assisted tackles to post 9 total tackles on the night. Olevao also logged 1.5 tackles-for-loss and 1.5 sacks. Olevao also tallied 2 quarterback hurries.

My special teams game ball will go to sophomore punter Landon Rehkow. Rehkow booted the ball two times for an average of 56.5 yards per punt, with a long of 60 yards and one touchback.
