2025-26 OUTLOOK

MJ COLLINS
MJ Collins is a transfer from Vanderbilt University who will enter the 2025-26 season as a senior with a redshirt season available if needed.

Last season as a junior with the Commodores, Collins played 32 games with 1 start and averaged 7.4 points per game while shooting 42.0 percent from the floor, 29.3 percent from behind the 3-point line, and he shot 72.9 percent at the free-throw line. He averaged 2.3 boards, 0.5 assists, and 0.6 steals per game.

During his 3-year career at Vanderbilt University and Virginia Tech University, Collins has played 98 games with 45 starts and averaged 6.3 points per game while shooting 37.0 percent from the floor, 28.1 percent from behind the 3-point line, and he shot 78.4 percent at the free-throw line. He averaged 2.5 boards, 1.6 assists, and 0.6 steals per game.

According to 247sports, once Collins entered the transfer portal, he was rated as the 267th-best transfer player nationally and the 69th-best shooting guard. Once he entered the transfer portal, Collins chose the Aggies over offers from Charlotte, Duquesne, Georgia, Georgia Tech, DePaul, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi State, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He originally held offers from Appalachian State, Charleston Southern, Clemson, Murray State, Presbyterian, Radford, Virginia Tech, Wofford, and Xavier.

Collins is exactly the type of guy the Aggies should be looking for when sifting through the transfer portal. A P4 guy who is looking to make an impact at a somewhat slightly lower level. Although Collins has struggled with his shot in the past, the Aggie offense is tailor-made to get guys open looks, and I expect Collins to be a beneficiary this season as well. What stands out to me off the bat is his athleticism. He can get up the floor in a hurry in transition. Once gets the ball in his hands, his length allows him to finish at the rim around much bigger players. He is beginning to show that he can hit the spot up 3-ball not only out on the elbow but deep in the corner as well. He can use a pump fake to put the ball on the floor and has a good feel for if he can get to the rim, can hit a pull-up jumper, or to pass the ball. Collins is a well-built dude who likes to use his physical stature to box out on both sides of the floor. He is not shy about contact. He is plenty versatile and quick enough to play top-flight defense in the Mountain West. I expect Collins to be an immediate impact player.

ADLAN ELAMIN
True freshman Adlan Elamin had a very good summer session, and I expect him to play right away.

At press time, there are no statistics available for Elamin during his high school career.

According to 247sports, Elamin is rated as the 139th-best player in the country, the 30th-best power forward, and the 8th-best high school player in Virginia. Elamin chose the Aggies over offers from Arizona State, Charleston, Chattanooga, George Mason, Hampton, Iowa, Maryland, Nicholls State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Radford, Rhode Island, and Virginia Commonwealth.

Elamin has an extremely high upside, but he is still working to turn that potential into production consistently. He covers the court with long and fluid strides and has a rare type of elasticity to his frame as a potential jumbo wing. He can put the ball on the floor in the open court, where he is often most intriguing, but is not ready to handle the ball in traffic at this point. He is a very underrated passer who can do with both hands. He can hit the 3-ball with surprising accuracy for a player his size. He has a springy bounce to his step, and once he gets into the lane, he elevates with ease to finish with a dunk. While he’s wiry by nature, with more narrow hips and shoulders, he will have to keep bulking up to play through more contact. His court coverage is a major defensive asset, particularly in run-and-jump schemes, and he will become increasingly versatile on that end as he gets stronger. He has a smooth approach to his game, making his movement seem effortless. He has several natural tools, and I believe his potential is to make an impact undeniable.

KINGSTON TOSI
True freshman Kingston Tosi will add depth to the position.

At press time, there are no statistics available for Tosi during his high school career.

According to 247sports, Tosi is rated as the 208th-best player in the country, the 47th-best power forward, and the 12th-best high school player in Arizona. Tosi chose the Aggies over offers from Arizona State, Cal Baptist, Colorado State, Dayton, Fresno State, Loyola Marymount, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Northern Arizona, Northridge, Samford, Sam Houston State, Siena, SMU, Texas-Arlington, UC-San Diego, UTEP, Washington, and Washington State.

Tosi is an excellent prospect; he is a very skilled performer with excellent versatility as a player. He is a versatile player evolving from a forward in high school into more of a true wing with the Aggies. He can score at all three levels. He can use his ability to score off the dribble and in the lane. He can play inside and out. He is a very good shooter of the basketball with range, and can get his defender off balance and make mid-range shots or finish strong in the lane over defenders. He has good positional size, is a vertical athlete, and while he is still filling out his frame, he is not shy about contact. He runs the floor diligently in transition and has the athleticism to get free for some big finishes. He also really knows how to play within the offensive structure of the half-court. He’s a good screener and knows how to slip and roll to the basket. He is an active rebounder who rebounds outside of his area, and he is an active defender who plays passing lanes. He rated well defensively and is competitive enough that he should eventually be a plus-defender. He has excellent length of body, which suggests that he is still growing a great deal, so he still has very good upside. His best years are well ahead of him.
