The Aggies battled all four quarters but just couldn’t slow down the University of Hawaii Rainbow Warriors, eventually falling to their conference foe by the score of 26-44. Now it’s time to hand out this week’s game balls.
My offensive game ball will go to senior running back Miles Davis. Davis led the team in rushing yardage, toting the rock 15 times for 102 yards and a touchdown. His long carry of the night went for 20 yards. He also added 3 receptions for 12 yards with a long of 8 yards. Davis now has 65 carries for a team-leading 416 yards and three touchdowns on the season.
My defensive game ball will go to sophomore cornerback DJ Mayes. Mayes logged 4 solo tackles and snagged an interception, which he returned 22 yards for the Aggies only forced turnover of the game. He also recorded a quarterback hurry. Mayes now has 15 tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 pass breakup, and 1 quarterback hurry on the season.
My special teams game ball will go to sophomore punter Landon Rehkow. Rehkow booted the ball 6 times for an average of 44.1 yards per punt, with a long of 43 yards. Two of his punts landed inside the 20-yard line. Rehkow booted the ball 33 times for an average of 38.8 yards per punt, with a long of 61 yards. Twelve of his punts landed inside the 20-yard line, and he has 11 punts of 50+ yards on the season.
