Utah State has received a verbal commitment from Lehi High School (UT) offensive lineman Matekitonga Havea. Havea is 6-foot-6, 290 pounds, and will join the Aggies in time for the 2028 season following serving a church mission.
Havea started in all 11 games for the Pioneers this season and all 23 games the past two seasons.
According to 247sports, Havea is rated as the 2,451st-best player nationally, the 191st-best offensive tackle, and the 33rd-best player in Utah. Havea chose the Aggies over offers from Arizona, Nevada, Sacramento State, San Diego State, South Florida, and UNLV.
Havea becomes the thirteenth commitment for the Aggies recruiting class of 2026, joining Canyon High (TX) running back Jackson Regan, Episcopal High (VA) defensive tackle Curtis “Tiki” Bell, Mountain View High (AZ) quarterback Brady Goodman, Thunder Ridge High (CO) tight end Preston McDaniel, Grandview High (CO) linebacker Brody Flores, Katy High (TX) wide receiver Cade McCall, Ridgeline High (UT) offensive lineman Easton Hammond, and Bingham High (UT) offensive lineman Lucas Neidig, Green Canyon High (UT) offensive lineman Like Baker, Clovis East High (CA) cornerback O’Shea Webb, and North Shore High (TX) quarterback Kaleb Maryland, and Rancho Cotate High (CA) inside linebacker John McClellan.
