My recruit of the week for week seventeen is going to North Shore High (TX) quarterback Kaleb Maryland.
Maryland led the Mustangs to a definitive 46-29 victory over previously undefeated Dickinson High (TX) in the quarterfinal round of the Texas State 6A-D1 playoffs.
Maryland was a big play waiting to happen all night, completing 9 of 16 passes (56.2%) for 244 yards and three touchdowns and an interception. He also carried the ball 13 times for 52 yards and two more touchdowns. For the season, he has 166 completions on 256 attempts (64.8%) for 3,209 yards, 34 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. He has also added 97 carries for 500 yards and 7 touchdowns.
This is Maryland’s fifth recruit of the week honor this season.
Maryland and the Mustangs are currently 12-2 and now have their sights set on a semifinal showdown with Lake Travis High (TX) on Saturday night.
