Utah State has received a verbal commitment from Oklahoma State University safety David “DK” Kabongo. Kabongo is 5-foot-10, 190 pounds, and will join the Aggies in time for spring ball and have three years of eligibility remaining.

Kabongo saw action in 4 games for the Cowboys in 2025, collecting 12 tackles and recovered a fumble.

According to 247Sports, Kabongo is rated as the 718th-best transfer portal player nationally and the 64th-best safety. Kabongo chose the Aggies over offers from Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Texas State, and Texas-San Antonio.

Following the December 3rd early signing period, Kabongo becomes the fourth transfer portal commitment and the twenty-third signing/commitment for the Aggies recruiting class of 2026, joining Bishop Gorman HS (NV) wide receiver Kaina Watson, New Mexico State defensive tackle Ta’avili Tuitama, University of Saint Thomas (MN) EDGE rush defensive end Jordan Pendleton, and Wyoming cornerback Markie Grant as post-early signing period additions.
