Utah State has received a verbal commitment from Virginia Tech University EDGE rush defensive end James Jennette. Jennette is 6-foot-4, 228 pounds, and will join the Aggies in time for spring ball, with one year of eligibility remaining.
Jennette was credited with 9 tackles, 1.0 tackle-for-loss, and 0.5 sacks with the Hokies in 2025.
According to 247sports, as a junior college transfer just three seasons ago, Jennette was rated as the 8th-best junior college prospect nationally, the number-one junior college EDGE rush defensive end, and the 2nd-best recruit in North Carolina. At press time, it is unclear whether Jennette held any other transfer portal offers.
