Utah State picked up a verbal commitment late last night from Fremont High (UT) combo guard Hunter Hansen. Hansen is a 6 foot 3 170-pound junior and will not be eligible to join the Aggies until the 2024 season. He is the first commitment for the class of 2024 for the Aggies, however, he will serve an LDS Church mission prior to enrolling at Utah State. As a sophomore last season, Hansen averaged 15.5 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field, 41 percent from three-point range, and 79 percent from the free throw stripe. He also averaged 3.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 0.9 steals per game. Hansen did not have any other offers at the time of his commitment and chose to commit to Utah State just one day after receiving his offer. Hansen is a member of the Utah Stars AAU basketball program.
