My offensive game ball is clearly going to go out to senior wide receiver Deven Thompkins. During the Aggies 28-24 win over the Rebels, Deven was an integral part of the Aggie offense as he hauled in a career high 12 passes for 180 yards and two HUGE touchdowns. For his effort last week Deven was named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
My defensive game ball is going to go to graduate senior Shaq Bond. During the Aggies 28-24 win over the Rebels, Shaq made BIG plays all night long racking up 9 tackles, 0.5 tackles-for-loss, 2 interceptions, and 1 forced fumble. For his monster night, Shaq was named the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
My special teams game ball is also an easy one. This one goes to graduate senior kicker returner/wide receiver Savon Scarver. In the Aggies 28-24 win over the Rebels, Savon returned a UNLV kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown. The touchdown return tied the FBS career record of 7 that is shared with three other players. In all Savon returned 3 kicks for 156 total yards for an average of 52.0 yards per return.
