There were two standouts offensively that I have to give game balls to.

My first game ball will go to graduate junior quarterback Logan Bonner. In the Aggies crushing 46-13 championship game win over San Diego State, Logan completed 29 of his 42 passes for 318 yards, 4 touchdowns and 1 interception. During the game, he also passed former Aggie quarterback great Jordan Love to become the all-time single season record holder for touchdown passes in a season with 36. For his effort, Logan was also named the championship game Offensive MVP.

My second game ball has to go to graduate senior wide receiver Brandon Bowling. During the Aggies decisive 46-13 championship game win over San Diego State, Brandon hauled in 9 passes for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns, one of which went for 58 yards early in the third quarter.

I’m going to go with a trio of defensive players that earned game balls this week.

My first defensive game ball absolutely has to go to graduate senior linebacker Justin Rice. During the Aggies blowout 46-13 championship game win over San Diego State, Justin racked up 10 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.0 sack and 1.0 QB hurry.

My second defensive game ball must go to junior defensive end Byron Vaughns. During the Aggies significant 46-13 championship game victory over San Diego State, Byron amassed 6 tackles, 2.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks, and 1 QB hurry. For his effort, Byron was also named the championship game Defensive MVP.

My final defensive game ball will be going to graduate senior defensive tackle Marcus Moore. During the Aggies 46-13 championship game manhandling of San Diego State, Marcus pulled down 5 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.5 sacks, 1 QB hurry and recovered a fumble.

There were also a trio of special teams players that I will giving game balls to.

My first special teams game ball will go to sophomore walk-on wide receiver Reece Jarvis. Early in the second quarter during the Aggies 46-13 championship game conclusive win over San Diego State, Reece blocked an Aztec punt that gave the Aggie prime field position, which the Aggie offense was then able to turn into a touchdown giving the Aggies a 7-0 lead.

My second special teams game ball will be going to sophomore walk-on linebacker Kina Maile. Early in the third quarter during the Aggies 46-13 championship game victory over San Diego State, as the result of a strong surge on a San Diego State punt attempt, Kina pushed an Aztec defender into his own punter, forcing a punt block that went backward into the end zone resulting in a safety that extended the Utah State lead to 23-3.

My final special teams game ball must go to redshirt sophomore walk-on cornerback Jaden Smith. Late in the third quarter during the Aggies 4-13 championship game win over San Diego State, thanks to his heads up play downfield, Jaden was able to pounce on an Aztec fumbled punt, once again giving the Aggies the ball which the offense turned into yet another touchdown giving them a 29-6 lead.
