After the Aggies 41-34 win on the island of Hawaii, I’m going to hand out two offensive AND two defensive game balls.
My first offensive game ball will go to junior quarterback Cooper Legas. Legas did a solid job as the Aggies field general completing 16 of his 25 passes for a career-high 238 yards and a career-high three touchdowns. He had a long pass of 68 yards that he completed to tight end Josh Sterzer for the first touchdown of the game.
My second offensive game ball will be going to graduate senior Calvin Tyler. Tyler was a workhorse for the Aggies out of the backfield as he carried the ball 25 times for 113 yards and one touchdown. He was also a weapon in the passing game as he tied his career-high with 3 receptions for a career-high 50 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown, which was his first receiving touchdown at Utah State. The 35-yard reception is also a career-long catch.
My first defensive game ball will be going to redshirt freshman safety Ike Larsen. Larsen finished with six tackles, including five solo tackles and one assisted tackle, including a career-high 2.0 tackles for loss to go along with a career-high-tying 1.0 sacks. Larsen also logged had a career high two interceptions, returning one 36 yards for his first-career touchdown.
My second defensive game ball will be going to graduate senior safety Hunter Reynolds. Reynolds finished with team-high nine tackles, including eight solo tackles and one assisted tackle. He notched an interception, 1.0 tackles-for-loss and broke up a pass.
My special teams game ball will be going to sophomore cornerback/gunner Jamie Nance. For the second straight week Nance recovered a muffed punt on punt coverage. Nance has a total of three muffed punt recoveries for the season.
