Utah State picked up a verbal commitment this afternoon from Lehi High School (UT) safety Kadiyon Sweat. Sweat was in Logan on his official visit over the weekend and chose to make it official today. Sweat is a 6 foot 0 185-pound high school senior and he will join the Aggies in June for the 2023 season. Sweat had a standout senior season for the Pioneers making 57 tackles, 3.0 tackles-for-loss, an incredible 10 interceptions, 8 pass breakups, and 1 forced fumble. As a junior, he racked up 73 tackles, 1.0 tackles-for-loss, a whopping 9 interceptions, and 10 pass breakups. As a sophomore, he was credited with 60 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 5 pass breakups. He was named a varsity starter as a freshman and he totaled 27 tackles 5 interceptions, and 6 pass breakups. Sweat is the sixth high school commitment and the fourteenth commitment overall for the Aggies 2023 recruiting cycle. At the time of his commitment, Sweat held offers from Air Force, Bryant, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Idaho State, and Weber State. Sweat wrapped up his illustrious four-year career at Lehi by running the table going 14 and 0 and winning the Utah State 5-A state championship by downing Timpview High (UT) 29-23 in overtime in what turned out to be an instant classic.
