Utah State picked up a verbal commitment this afternoon from the former Montana State point guard Darius Brown. Brown is a 6 foot 2 195-pound transfer who has one season of eligibility remaining and will join the Aggies for the 2023-24 season. Brown just left Logan after coming on his official visit on April 23rd and 24th. After a stellar senior season at Montana State, Brown was named the 2022-23 Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year. Over the course of his four-year career, Brown has averaged 9.2 points per game while shooting 46.1% from the field, 36.1% from behind the three-point line, and 79.9% at the free-throw stripe. He also pulled in 4.0 rebounds, handed out 4.6 assists, and swiped 1.5 steals per game. Brown began his career at Cal-State Northridge and played there for 4 seasons before joining the Bobcats last season. Prior to committing to the Aggies Brown received offers from Central Florida, College of Charleston, Duquesne, Minnesota, Montana State, Notre Dame, Richmond, SMU, South Florida, St. John’s, Utah Valley, and Western Kentucky.
