After a high-scoring 83-60 opening win of the Cayman Classic, I’ve decided to hand out two game balls.
My first game ball is going to junior combo guard Ian Martinez. Martinez finished second on the team in scoring with 15 points while hitting 5 of 9 shots from the field, knocking down 1 of 3 shots from behind the 3-point line, and nailing 4 of 6 shots from the free-throw line. He pulled down 6 rebounds on the defensive end. He also swatted 3 shots and dished out 2 assists.
My second game ball is going to none other than senior power forward Great Osobor. Osobor scored a game-high 18 points while hitting 6 of 9 shots from the field, including nailing 6 of 11 shots from the free-throw line. He pulled down 3 offensive rebounds and 13 defensive boards for a total of 16 rebounds on the night. He also swatted 3 shots and dished out 3 assists.
Martinez, Osobor, and the Aggies immediately return to action in the second game of the Cayman Classic tonight when they take on the University of Akron.
