Utah State picked up a verbal commitment this morning from Butler Community College (KS) EDGE rush end Marlin Dean. Dean is a 6-foot-6 245-pound redshirt freshman who will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. In 9 games for the Grizzlies this season Dean racked up 25 tackles, 10.0 tackles-for-loss, 7.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Dean began his collegiate career at the University of Georgia where he logged 2 tackles as a true freshman. Before signing with Georgia, he had offers from a list of who’s-who of college football as Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Penn State, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and West Virginia all hoped to land his services. He will be joining the Aggies for the 2024 season and sign his letter of intent during the early signing period that begins December 20th.
