Utah State picked up a verbal commitment Sunday morning from Golden West Community College (CA) safety Marquis Brown. Brown is a 6-foot-4 200-pound sophomore who will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. During his two-year career at Golden West, Brown accumulated 82 tackles, 1.0 tackles-for-loss, 6 interceptions, 7 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble and 1 blocked kick. He will be joining the Aggies in June for the 2024 season and sign his letter of intent during the early signing period that begins December 20th. At the time of his commitment, Brown held offers from Akron, Connecticut, Houston, North Carolina State, Texas State, Texas-San Antonio, and Washington State. Brown is the fourth junior college addition for the Aggies and the thirteenth commitment overall for the Aggies 2024 recruiting cycle, joining Hutchinson CC (KS) cornerback Mason Edwards, Bulter CC (KS) EDGE rush end Marlin Dean, and Golden West CC (CA) safety Terrell Taylor, and from the transfer portal former university of utah linebacker Jadon Pearson, former University of Iowa quarterback Spencer Petras, and former University of Pittsburgh offensive lineman Trey Andersen, and high school commits Casteel High (AZ) offensive lineman Camden Jury, Helix High (CA) quarterback Ryland Jessee, Lehi High (UT) tight end Grayson Brousseau, Corner Canyon High (UT) wide receiver Tate Kjar, Mater Dei High (CA) linebacker Tanner Williams, and Mountain Ridge High (UT) offensive lineman Adam Hawkes.
