Utah State picked up a verbal commitment this afternoon from former Kent State defensive tackle Macyo “Taz” Williams. Williams is a 6-foot-3 275-pound junior who has 2 years to complete his final season of eligibility. While at Kent State, Williams saw action in 31 games totaling 36 tackles, 5.5 tackles-for-loss, 3.0 sacks, and 1 pass breakup. According to 247sports coming out of St. Vincent-St.Mary’s High (OH), he was rated as the 2,061st-best player nationally, the 240th-best defensive lineman, and the 77th-best player in the state of Ohio. He will be joining the Aggies for the 2024 season and sign his letter of intent during the early signing period that begins December 20th. Before committing to the Aggies, Williams held offers from Austin Peay, East Tennesse State, Lamar, Lousiana Tech, New Mexico, Prairie View A&M, Robert Morris, and Tarleton State.
