Utah State picked up a verbal commitment this morning from former Utah Valley University point guard Drake Allen. Allen is a 6-foot-4 190-pound senior transfer who has one season of eligibility remaining with a redshirt season available if he needs it. He will join the Aggies for the 2024-25 season. Allen committed to the Aggies just days after visiting the Utah State campus during the weekend of April 19th. Allen played just one season of his career for the Wolverines and came into his own as a junior averaging 11.9 points per game while shooting 44.5% from the field, 23.2% from behind the three-point line, and 63.2% at the free-throw stripe. He also pulled in 3.4 rebounds, handed out 4.3 assists, and swiped 1.5 steals per game. Allen also spent one season in Cedar City (UT) with the Thunderbirds and began his collegiate career in Ephraim (UT) at Snow Junior College. Allen is the third commitment of the Jerrod Calhoun era at Utah State joining Queens University of Charlotte combo guard Deyton Albury and Stetson University center Aubin Gateretse.
