Utah State received a verbal commitment from former Purdue University linebacker Clyde Washington. Washington is a 6-foot-3 245-pound graduate senior who has one season of eligibility remaining. He will join the Aggies for the 2024 season. Washington’s decision just hours after spending May 4th-6th on campus for his official visit. In four years as a Boilermaker, Washington appeared in 36 games collecting 42 tackles, 1 interception, and 1 pass breakup. According to 247sports coming out of Lenape High School (NJ), Washington was rated as the 1941st-best player nationally, the 82nd-best inside linebacker, and the 45th-best player in the State of New Jersey. Washington originally held offers from Buffalo, Central Michigan, Elon, Kent State, Old Dominion, Purdue, and Temple. Washington chose the Aggies over an offer from UTEP. Washington is the Aggie’s third addition to the team following the conclusion of spring ball joining Iowa Central Community College (IA) defensive tackle Isaiah Bruce and boise state university quarterback CJ Tiller.
