Utah State has signed Lenior-Rhyne University linebacker Jon Ross Maye. Maye is a 6-foot-0 230-pound senior who has one season of eligibility remaining with a redshirt season available if needed. He will join the Aggies for the 2024 season. Maye’s decision comes a week after spending May 2nd-4th on campus for his official visit. In four years as a Bear, Maye appeared in 38 games amassing 274 tackles, 34 tackles-for-loss, 6.5 sacks, 4 interceptions, 16 pass breakups, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries, and blocked a kick. As a junior last season, he racked up 116 tackles, 15.5 tackles-for-loss, 2.5 sacks, 1 interception, 6 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 fumble recovery. For his outstanding effort, Maye was named a NCAA Division-2 First-team All-American. He has also earned All-South Atlantic Conference honors three times. Maye chose the Aggies over offers from Arkansas State, Buffalo, Coastal Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern, Hampton, Kansas State, Missouri State, Samford, Stony Brook, Tennessee State, UTEP, Western Carolina, and Western Kentucky. Maye is the Aggies seventh addition to the team following the conclusion of spring ball joining Iowa Central Community College (IA) defensive tackle Isaiah Bruce, boise state university quarterback CJ Tiller, Purdue University linebacker Clyde Washington, New Mexico State University cornerback Andre Seldon Jr., University of Charlotte wide receiver Jack Hestera and Arizona State quarterback Jacob Conover.
