Utah State has received a verbal commitment from Standford University EDGE rush defensive end Aaron Armitage. Armitage is a 6-foot-5 260-pound sophomore who has two years of eligibility remaining.  He will join the Aggies for the 2024 season. Armitage’s decision came while he is currently on campus for his official visit. During his three-year career for the Cardinal, Armitage saw action in 15 games and recorded 22 tackles, 3.0 tackles-for-loss, and 2.0 sacks.

According to 247sports coming out of Blair Academy (NJ), Armitage was rated as the 231st-best player nationally, the 30th-best defensive lineman, and the 2nd-best player in the State of New Jersey. He originally held offers from California, Cincinnati, Duke, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Massachusetts, Miami (FL), Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Penn St, Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, Tennesse, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.

Armitage is the Aggies tenth addition to the team following the conclusion of spring ball joining Iowa Central Community College (IA) defensive tackle Isaiah Bruce, boise state university quarterback CJ Tiller, Purdue University linebacker Clyde Washington, New Mexico State University cornerback Andre Seldon Jr., University of Charlotte wide receiver Jack Hestera, Arizona State University quarterback Jacob Conover, Lenoir-Rhyne University linebacker Jon Ross Maye, Limestone University defensive tackle Collin Vaughn, and Washington State EDGE rush defensive end Lawrence Falatea.
