Utah State picked up a verbal commitment Tuesday night from Corner Canyon High School (UT) athlete Paxton Naegle. Naegle is a 6-foot-4 235-pound high school senior who will graduate early and enroll at Utah State in January in preparation for the upcoming 2025 season. He could play on the defensive line, flip to the offensive side of the ball to play at tight end, or even bulk up and become an offensive lineman.
Naegle had his senior season with the Chargers cut short by an injury. Through 6 games, he had already racked up 33 tackles, 3.0 tackles-for-loss, 1.0 sacks, 1 QB hurry, and 1 forced fumble.
According to 247sports Naegle is currently rated as the 171st-best defensive lineman in the country, and the 23rd-best prospect overall in Utah. Naegle chose the Aggies over offers from byu, Nevada, Northern Arizona, Oregon State, UNLV, and Washington State.
Naegle is the tenth commitment for the Aggies 2025 recruiting cycle, joining Lehi HS (UT) offensive lineman Tommy “Rock” Olsen and Idabel HS (OK) running back Ravian “Megatron” Larry, Copper Hills HS (UT) offensive lineman Joakim Green, Centennial HS (AZ) wide receiver Nikko Boncore, Logan HS (UT) tight end Reed Olsen, Skyridge HS (UT) offensive lineman Filimone Fangupo, Owasso HS (OK) cornerback Eric Harris, Lone Peak HS (UT) offensive lineman Toby Mealer, and Murray HS (UT) offensive lineman Sam Brousseau.
