Utah State picked up a verbal commitment tonight from Orem High (UT) combo guard Jax Allen. Allen is a 6-foot-3 165-pound high school senior who will serve an LDS Church mission following high school and join the Aggies for the 2027-28 season. Allen is the younger brother of current Aggie point guard Drake Allen.

In 23 games last season, Allen averaged 14.1 points per game while shooting 50.0 percent from the floor, 35.0 percent from behind the 3-point line, and he shot 80.0 percent at the free-throw line. He averaged 5.5 boards, 3.4 assists, and 1.2 steals.

Allen chose the Aggies over offers from Bowling Green, Idaho State, Weber State, and Utah Valley.

Allen is the sixth commitment for the Aggies 2025 early period recruiting cycle joining St. Paul VI Catholic High (VA) WING Adlan Elamin, Clayton Valley Charter (CA) point guard Elijah Perryman, Millennium Hoops Preps (AZ) WING Kingston Tosi, Dream City Christian High (AZ) point guard Brayden Boe and iSchool Entrepreneurial Academy (TX) power forward David Iweze.
