I’m ready to hand out the game balls after the Aggies season-ending 37-42 4th-quarter loss to Colorado State University.
My offensive game ball will go to junior wide receiver Otto Tia. Tia hauled in a career-high 6 passes for 81 yards and another career-high 3 touchdowns. Tia’s touchdown receptions covered distances of 2, 14, and, 2-yards. He also hauled in a 51-yard reception early in the first quarter.
I’m going to hand out two defensive game balls this week.
My first defensive game ball will go to senior boundary safety Jordan Vincent. Vincent recorded a game-high 15 tackles, including 6 solo tackles and 9 assisted tackles.
My second defensive game ball will go to senior cornerback Jaiden Francois. Francois was credited with 6 tackles, including 4 solo tackles and 2 assisted tackles. He also recorded 1.0 tackles-for-loss, 1.0 sacks, and picked off a pass that he returned 40 yards for his second career touchdown.
I’m also going to hand out two special teams game balls this week.
My first special teams game ball goes to senior punter Stephen Kotsanlee. Kotsanlee booted the ball three times including a long punt of 47 yards for an average of 43.0 yards per punt. He also landed one of his kicks inside the 20-yard line.
My second special teams game ball will go to senior long snapper Jacob Garcia. Garcia spent 52 consecutive games as the Aggie long snapper on all punts, field goal attempts, and point-after-touchdown tries. Not once in those 52 games did Garcia misfire causing a missed kick or punt.
Thank you for presenting these awards all year long. I have been keeping track of who has received the game balls each time and for
the Offense, Jalen Royals had 5 weeks of game balls with Rahsul Faison coming in 2nd with a close 4 weeks.
On Defense, the player who had the most game balls in Jordan Vincent with 7 and Cian Slone & Ike Larsen tied for 2nd with 3 each.
On Special Teams, the player with the most game balls with 7 is Stephen Kotsanlee and Tanner Cragun came in 2nd with 2.
