Utah State signed University of New Mexico long snapper Hyrum Hatch this morning. Hatch is a 6-foot 196-pound redshirt freshman who will join the Aggies in time for spring ball. Hatch will enter spring ball as a sophomore who has three years of eligibility remaining
In his only season with the Lobos Hatch served as the long snapper in all 12 games.
According to Rubio Long Snapping, Hatch was rated as a 4.5* and was the 80th-best long-snapping prospect in the country. Hatch chose the Aggies over an offer from Florida Atlantic.
Hatch becomes the first transfer portal signing/commitment of the Bronco Mendenhall era here at Utah State and the fourth signing/commitment overall joining Snow JC (UT) safety Titan Saxton, Viewmont HS (UT) safety Ryan Tillman, and Lehi HS (UT) cornerback Abe Jager.
