Utah State received a verbal commitment from Hampton University long snapper Owen Edwards last night. Edwards is a 6-foot 200-pound true freshman who will join the Aggies in time for spring ball. Edwards will enter spring ball as a sophomore, with four years to complete his final three years of eligibility.

In his only season with the Pirates Edwards served as the long snapper in 9 games.

According to Rubio Long Snapping, Edwards was rated as a 4.5* and was the 68th-best long-snapping prospect in the country. Utah State appears to have been his only offer.

Edwards becomes the fourth transfer portal signing/commitment of the Bronco Mendenhall era here at Utah State and the seventh signing/commitment overall joining Snow JC (UT) safety Titan Saxton, Viewmont HS (UT) safety Ryan Tillman, Lehi HS (UT) cornerback Abe Jager, New Mexico long snapper Hyrum Hatch, New Mexico cornerback DJ Mayes, and New Mexico cornerback Bryson Taylor
