Utah State received a verbal commitment from Utah Tech University safety Brevin Hamblin tonight. Hamblin is a 6-foot-5 205-pound sophomore who will join the Aggies in time for spring ball. Hamblin will enter spring ball as a junior, with three years to complete his final two years of eligibility.

Last season with the Trailblazers, Hamblin started in all 12 games, leading the team in tackles with 96 while also logging 2.0 tackles-for-loss, 2 pass breakups, 2 forced fumbles, and a blocked kick.

Hamblin chose the Aggies over offers from Idaho State and Weber State.

Hamblin becomes the fifth transfer portal signing/commitment of the Bronco Mendenhall era here at Utah State and the eighth signing/commitment overall joining Snow JC (UT) safety Titan Saxton, Viewmont HS (UT) safety Ryan Tillman, Lehi HS (UT) cornerback Abe Jager, New Mexico long snapper Hyrum Hatch, New Mexico cornerback DJ Mayes, New Mexico cornerback Bryson Taylor, and Hampton long snapper Owen Edwards.
