Utah State received a verbal commitment tonight from New Mexico Military Institute linebacker Sampson Alofipo. Alofipo is a 6-foot-1 189-pound sophomore who will join the Aggies in time for spring ball. Alofipo will enter spring ball as a junior and will have three years to complete his final two seasons of eligibility.
Last season with the Broncos, Alofipo started in all 11 games and rolled up 60 tackles, 6.0 tackles-for-loss, 4.5 sacks, 1 INT, 2 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.
The Aggies were the first offer for Alofipo.
