Utah State received a verbal commitment from UCLA wide receiver Braden Pegan tonight. Pegan is a 6-foot-4 200-pound sophomore who will join the Aggies in time for spring ball. Pegan will enter spring ball as a junior, with two years of eligibility remaining.
Last season with the Bruins Pegan did not see any action.
According to 247sports coming out of San Juan Hills High (CA), Pegan was rated as the 677th-best player nationally, the 95th-best wide receiver, and the 54th-best prospect overall in California. Pegan originally held offers from Boston College, Colorado, Colorado State, Columbia, Fordham, UCLA, UNLV, utah, Utah State, and Yale. It appears that Utah State is his only offer after entering the transfer portal.
Pegan becomes the eighth transfer portal signing/commitment of the Bronco Mendenhall era here at Utah State and the eleventh signing/commitment overall joining Snow JC (UT) safety Titan Saxton, Viewmont HS (UT) safety Ryan Tillman, Lehi HS (UT) cornerback Abe Jager, New Mexico long snapper Hyrum Hatch, New Mexico cornerback DJ Mayes, New Mexico cornerback Bryson Taylor, Hampton long snapper Owen Edwards, Utah Tech safety Brevin Hamblin, New Mexico running back Javen Jacobs, and Missouri punter Will Safris.
