Utah State has received a verbal commitment from Lone Peak High School (UT) offensive lineman Jared Smith. Smith is a 6-foot-4 270-pound high school senior who will serve an LDS Church mission before he joins the Aggies.
In his final season with the Knights, Smith was a starter on the offensive line in all 14 games and helped his school reach the Utah State 6A championship game.
According to 247sports Smith is currently rated as the 219th-best offensive tackle nationally and the 55th-best prospect overall in Utah. Smith chose the Aggies over offers from Idaho State, Southern Utah, Utah Tech, and Weber State.
