Utah State has received a verbal commitment from former New Mexico State University defensive tackle Naki Fahina. Fahia is 6-foot-0, 300 pounds, and will enter the 2025 season as a senior and will use his final season of eligibility at Utah State. Fahina made his decision just hours after visiting the Utah State campus yesterday.

In his lone season with the southern Aggies last year, Fahina started in all 12 games and made 29 tackles, 1.0 tackles-for-loss, and blocked a kick.

During his 4-year career with the Aggies and UNLV, he saw action in 39 games and totalled 65 tackles, 6.5 tackles-for-loss, 1.0 sack, 1 pass breakup, 1 forced fumble, and 1 blocked kick.

According to 247sports, coming out of Lawndale High School (CA), Fahina was rated as the 127th-best defensive end nationally and the 217th-best player in the State of California. He originally held offers from UNLV. He chose the Aggies over an offer from North Texas.

Fahina becomes the Aggies fourth post-spring ball transfer portal addition, joining Elon cornerback Dylan Tucker, Purdue offensive lineman Jimmy Liston, and California EDGE rush defensive end John Gayer.
