Utah State has signed former University of Nebraska safety D’Andre Barnes. Barnes is 6-foot-0, 190 pounds, and will enter the 2025 season as a sophomore who will have three years of eligibility remaining.

During his 2-year career with the Cornhuskers, Barnes redshirted as well as seeing action in 2 games but did not record any stats.

According to 247sports, coming out of Regis Jesuit High School (CO), Barnes was rated as the 1,196th-best player nationally, the 112th-best cornerback, and the 9th-best player in the State of Colorado. He originally held offers from Air Force, Bowling Green, byu, Nebraska, Nevada, and Wyoming. Barnes chose the Aggies over an offer from Wyoming.

Barnes becomes the Aggies eighth post-spring ball transfer portal addition, joining Elon cornerback Dylan Tucker, Purdue offensive lineman Jimmy Liston, California EDGE rush defensive end John Gayer, New Mexico State defensive tackle Naki Fahina, byu punter Landon Rehkow, byu defensive lineman Carson Tujague, and byu safety Chika Ebunoha.
