Utah State has picked up a verbal commitment from former University of Northern Iowa forward Will Hornseth. Hornseth is a 6-foot-8, 235-pound junior with two years of eligibility remaining. Hornseth will be in Logan tomorrow for an official visit.
Last season, Hornseth saw action in 35 games with 35 starts and averaged 11.1 points per game while shooting 60.1% from the field, 44.3% from behind the three-point line, and 52.7% at the free-throw stripe. He also pulled in 4.6 rebounds, handed out 2.2 assists, swiped 0.5 steals, and swatted 0.6 shots per game.
During his 2-year career with the Panthers, Hornseth played in 68 games with 36 starts, and averaged 8.2 points per game while shooting 62.3% from the field, 36.4% from behind the three-point line, and 53.4% at the free-throw stripe. He also pulled in 3.5 rebounds, handed out 1.6 assists, swiped 0.4 steals, and swatted 0.5 shots per game.
Hornseth entered the transfer portal with a no-contact tag attached to his portal profile. He originally held offers from Illinois State, Saint Thomas (MN), Toledo, and Wisconsin-Green Bay.
Hornseth is the Aggies first commitment from the transfer portal.
