Utah State has picked up a verbal commitment from University of Evansville center Connor Turnbull. Turnbull is a 6-foot-10, 225-pound graduate senior who will spend his final season of eligibility with the Aggies. Turnbull will join the Aggies for the 2026-27 season. Turnbull was on campus over the weekend for his official visit.
As a junior last season with the Purple Aces, Turnbull missed significant portions of the season due to an injury but did see action in 16 games with 14 starts and averaged 11.5 points per game while shooting 47.1% from the field, 22.2% from behind the three-point line, and 66.7% at the free-throw stripe. He also pulled in 6.1 rebounds, handed out 1.1 assists, swiped 0.5 steals, and swatted 2.4 shots per game.
During his 4-year career at the University of Evansville and Butler University, Turnbull played in 79 games with 34 starts, and averaged 7.1 points per game while shooting 50.5% from the field, 30.9% from behind the three-point line, and 69.1% at the free-throw stripe. He also pulled in 3.4 rebounds, handed out 0.9 assists, swiped 0.3 steals, and swatted 1.6 shots per game. He was named the Missouri Valley Defensive Player of the Year following the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.
According to On3sports, Turnbull was rated as the 426th-best transfer portal player nationally and the 44th-best center. It’s unclear at press time what transfer portal offers Turnbull held. Turnbull originally held offers from Butler, Indiana State, Kansas State, Missouri, and Saint Louis.
Turnbull is the Aggies fifth transfer portal commitment of the 2026 recruiting cycle and the ninth commitment overall joining Snow JC (UT) center Bron Roberts, University of Tennessee-Chattanooga center Collin Mulholland, College of Southern Idaho (ID) point guard Ace Reiser, Wright State guard Solomon Callaghan, Louisiana Tech point guard AJ Bates, De Smet Jesuit HS (MO) guard Jordan Boyd, Snow JC (UT) center Sean Felts, and Northern Iowa forward Will Hornseth.
