Utah State has received a verbal commitment from Westlake High School (UT) wide receiver Malik Sika. Sika is 6-foot-3, 200 pounds, and will join the Aggies for the 2029 season following serving a church mission. Sika took his official visit to the Utah State campus last weekend and took just a few days to make things official with the Aggies.
As a junior last season with the Thunder, Sika played in 11 games with 11 starts and snagged 66 passes for 1,176 yards and 19 touchdowns. His squad finished with a 7-4 record and a trip to the second round of the 6A Utah State Playoffs.
Sika chose the Aggies over offers from Hawaii, Navy, New Mexico, San Diego State, Utah Tech, and Weber State.
Sika is the Aggies third commitment for the Aggies recruiting class of 2027, joining Cedar Falls High (IA) linebacker Brayden Hanks and Green Canyon High (UT) offensive tackle Dakota Calverley.
Maliki, so impressed with all your hard work! We are excited about USU football, but even more excited for your USU education and the additional training and life skills you will gain under the tutelage and mentoring of Coach Bronco Mendenhall and his coaching staff. It’s a huge honor to be recruited by a coach of his character and capabilities. You’ve made yourself “distinctive” and he wants you “on his bus” (read Bronco’s book). We couldn’t be more pleased in your choice. “We just love to watch you play” Go Aggies! ‘Ofa atu! – Grandpa and Grandma
Aggie Nation feels lucky to have Malik choose to wear the blue and white of Utah State!!
