HYRUM HATCH
Junior Hyrum Hatch will once again handle the long snapping duties for the Aggies in 2026.
As a sophomore last season, Hatch started as the long snapper in all 13 games.
During his 3-year career with the Aggies, the University of New Mexico and Snow Junior College (UT), Hatch has played in 25 games with 25 starts.
Hatch was rated as the 80th-best long snapper in the country by Rubio Long Snapping. He chose the Aggies over an offer from Florida Atlantic.
Hatch is a very strong long snapper who is built really well. He is quick on his feet and with his snaps. His snapping is smooth, and he delivers a tight spiral. The ball is super easy to catch. He is a tremendous athlete who is flat-out good in all aspects of his long snapping and downfield kick coverage. Has handled 100% of the snapping duties for two straight seasons without a miscue.
OWEN EDWARDS
Redshirt sophomore preferred walk-on Owen Edwards will be a solid option as a backup at this position.
As a sophomore last season, Edwards spent the season redshirting and did not see any action.
During his 2-year career with the Aggies and Hampton University, Edwards has played in 9 games with 9 starts.
Edwards was rated as the 60th-best long snapper in the country by Rubio Long Snapping. Once he entered the transfer portal, Utah State was his first offer, and he accepted not long after being offered.
Edwards is built very well and has a good, strong lower body. His spiral is tight and his accuracy his immpeccable. The more speed he gets on the ball, the more explosive he is out of the gate. He is a super smooth long snapper with a very catchable ball back to the punter. He is a pure athlete who is able to fly on the field and will undoubtedly be a factor on the punt coverage team.

Junior Landon Rehkow is without a doubt the starter at this spot in 2026.

He is unbothered by an intense rush from the opposing team and remains focused and calm. The ball pops off his foot, and he excels at avoiding touchbacks. His older brother, Ryan Rehkow, is the starting punter for the Cincinnati Bengals.
DYLAN SPRAGUE
Senior Dylan Sprague will provide a solid backup option this season.
As a junior last season, Sprague did not see any action with the Aggies.
During his 4-year career with the Aggies and Saddleback Community College (CA), Sprague totaled 11 games with 11 starts and totaled 34 punts for an average of 34.0 yards per punt, with 3 punts fair caught and 11 punts inside the 20-yard line.
Sprague was rated as the 60th-best punter in the country by Chris Sailer Kicking. It appears that Utah State was his first preferred walk-on offer, and he accepted not long after being offered.
Sprague is a very good junior college punting prospect. He is a good athlete, and he is able to generate a lot of power in his kicks thanks to having a live leg. He produces punts for a nice combination of distance and hang time. He has good control of his kicks and is able to use the directionality. He seems to have a lot of upside and should only get better in an FBS program.

He is also a highly capable kicking prospect and has a range extending beyond 55-yards. The punter-kicker versatility is a valuable asset.

Kian Afrookhteh is a transfer from Coastal Carolina University who will enter the 2026 season as a senior and will use his final season of eligibility with the Aggies.
As a junior last season with the Chanticleers, Afrookhteh played in 15 games with 15 starts and knocked down 15 of his 19 field goal attempts and all of his 32 PAT tries.

Afrookhteh is a huge addition for the Aggies in 2026. His kicking motion is incredibly smooth. He strikes the ball, demonstrating clean, pure mechanics. He properly uses his compact frame to drive into the ball and make it boom off his foot. He has been an efficient kicker his entire career and hits standard field goal tries with ease. He has demonstrated a consistent range expanding out to 55 yards. He is tried and tested during high-stakes, high-pressure game moments.
TYLER HALEY
Preferred walk-on Tyler Haley is a transfer from Grossmont Community College (CA) who will enter the 2026 season as a sophomore and has four years of eligibility remaining thanks to the new 5-years-to-play-5 ruling handed down by the NCAA.
He enrolled at Utah State in January and gave himself a huge advantage by going through spring ball.
As a true freshman with the Griffins last season, Haley played in 11 games with 11 starts and knocked down 10 of his 19 field goal attempts and 44 of 47 PAT tries.
During his 1-year career at Grossmont Community College (CA), Haley has played in 11 games with 11 starts and has made 10 of his 19 field goal attempts and 44 of 47 PAT tries.
Haley was rated as the 36th-best transfer kicker in the country by Kohl’s Kicking School. He chose the Aggies over an offer from UC-Davis.
Haley was a very good kicking prospect coming out of high school. He was able to hone is craft while at the junior college level. He is a good athlete and gets the most out of his natural ability. He has smooth mechanics, as he plants his foot solidly and drives through the ball. He hits a clean ball off the ground and has a 50-yard range. He has shown that he can be a force in the kickoff game.
GRAYSON LYTTON
Preferred walk-on Grayson Lytton is a transfer from Northwestern State University who will enter the 2026 season as a sophomore and has four years of eligibility remaining thanks to the new 5-years-to-play-5 ruling handed down by the NCAA.
As a true freshman with the Demons last season, Lytton played in 9 games with 9 starts and knocked down 3 of his 6 field goal attempts and 14 of 15 PAT tries.
During his 1-year career at Northwestern State University, Lytton has played in 9 games with 9 starts and has made 3 of his 6 field goal attempts and 14 of 15 PAT tries.

Lytton was a very productive high school kicker. He began his collegiate career with a few uncharacteristic misses but rebounded to have a strong close to the season, which demonstrates the short memory and mental toughness needed to be a successful kicker. He has a consistent approach to his kicks, displaying good footwork, a strong plant leg, and a smooth follow-through. He has a 50-yard range on his field goal attempts. His kickoffs regularly hit the back of the end zone, generating 10+ yards of depth.
