Utah State has picked up a verbal commitment from Notre Dame Sherman Oaks (CA) WING King Rachal. Rachal is 6-foot-7, 180 pounds, and will join the Aggies for the 2027-28 season.
Rachal played last season at DNA Prep Academy, which does not publish stats. Rachal rose to prominence this summer, boosting his profile on the Puma Pro16 grassroots circuit with Southern California-based Team CPSA, showcasing elite multi-level scoring, strong perimeter defense, and hyper-athletic 3-and-D wing potential. The 2025–26 summer cycle was a massive year for Rachal, who went from being a virtual unknown to a highly coveted four-star national prospect.
According to 247sports, Rachal is rated as the 47th-best player nationally, the 10th-best small forward, and the 4th-best player in California. He chose the Aggies over offers from Arizona, Grand Canyon, New Mexico, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Oregon State, Saint Mary’s, San Diego State, SMU, Texas Tech, UCLA, USC, Vanderbilt, Virginia Tech, and Washington.
Rachal is the Aggies’ third commitment of the 2027 recruiting cycle, joining Westminster Christian Academy (MO) shooting guard Will Powers and Lone Peak High (UT) WING Crew Fotheringham.
