My first offensive recruit of the week will go to Spring High (TX) quarterback Bishop Davenport. In a 34-3 win over Nimitz High (TX), Bishop connected on 25 of his 37 passes for 352 yards and 4 touchdowns, while also adding another 18 yards on 3 carries.

I’m going to hand out a trio of defensive recruit awards this week.

The first defensive recruit of the week will go to Trinity Christian Academy (TX) defensive end Matt Freeman. In a tough 20-30 loss to DasCHE (TX), Matt racked up 6 tackles, 2.0 tackles-for-loss, 2.0 sacks, and 1 QB hurry.

The second defensive recruit of the week is going to Los Alamitos High (CA) defensive tackle Adam Tomczyk. In a 48-0 shutout victory over Newport Harbor High (CA), Adam led the way on the defensive line, busting through for 4 tackles, 2.0 tackles-for-loss, 2.0 sacks, and 1 forced fumble.

My third defensive recruit of the week is going out to West High (UT) linebacker Ryker Lotulelei. In a tough 7-10 playoff loss to Farmington High (UT), Ryker left it all out on the field, racking up 8 tackles and 3.0 tackles-for-loss.

My dual-threat recruit of the week is going to Bellville High (TX) running back Robert Briggs. In a big 35-0 shutout win over La Marque High (TX), Robert was a standout on both sides of the ball as he rolled to 70 yards and 2 touchdowns on 14 carries, while adding 2 receptions for 15 yards offensively. On the defensive side of the ball, he picked-off a La Marque pass and raced 32 yards for a touchdown.
