I once again will be handing out two offensive recruit of the week awards.

My first offensive recruit of the week award is going to Spring High (TX) quarterback Bishop Davenport. In a 56-63 shootout playoff win over Klein Cain High (TX), Bishop completed 19 of his 26 passes for 284 yards, with 1 touchdown and 1 interception. He also added 15 carries for 121 yards and another touchdown. Bishop and Spring now move on to the state regional finals.

My second offensive recruit of the week will be going to Bellville High (TX) running back Robert Briggs. In a big 41-20 playoff win over Rusk High (TX), Robert took just 13 carries for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns, while also catching 1 pass for 60 yards. Robert and Bellville now move on to the state regional finals.

There were also two standout defensive performances last weekend that deserve some recognition.

My first defensive recruit of the week award is going to Lone Peak High (UT) safety Kao Hansen. In the Utah State 6A championship game, Kao was an impact players collecting 6 tackles, 1 pass breakup, 1 blocked punt, and a game sealing interception that allowed the Knights to secure a 49-42 title game victory over Corner Canyon High (UT).

My second defensive recruit of the week award will go to Mesquite High (TX) linebacker Josh Williams. In a season ending 2-52 playoff loss to Texas juggernaut Duncanville High (TX), Josh went all out, racking up 15 tackles and blocking an astounding 3 Duncanville field goal attempts.
