Utah State picked up a preferred walk-on verbal commitment from Cedar Valley High (UT) EDGE rush defensive end Bryan Vogl Monday night. Vogl is a 6 foot 2 255-pound high school senior and he will join the Aggies in June for the 2023 season. Vogl had a standout senior season for the Aviators pulling in 43 tackles, 16.0 tackles-for-loss, 5.0 sacks, 1 quarterback hurry, 2 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 2 blocked punts. For his effort during the season, he was named the Region 7 Defensive Line MVP. As a junior, he racked up 49 tackles, 17.0 tackles-for-loss, 7.0 sacks, 19 quarterback hurries, 1 interception that he returned for a touchdown, 4 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 blocked punt. As a sophomore, he was credited with 52 tackles, 15.0 tackles-for-loss, 10.0 sacks, 11 quarterback hurries, 2 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, and 2 fumble recoveries. He was named a varsity starter as a freshman and he totaled 52 tackles, 15.0 tackles-for-loss, 7.0 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 2 fumble recoveries. Vogl is the eighth preferred walk-on the Aggies will add during the 2023 recruiting cycle. At the time of his commitment, Vogl held an offer from Black Hills State. Vogl wrapped up his illustrious four-year career at Cedar Valley by finishing the 2022 season at 8 and 4 and advancing to the second round of the Utah State 5-A playoffs.
