Utah State officially inked their first addition to the squad on the afternoon of April 26th when they announced former University of Idaho WING Nigel Burris. Burris is a 6 foot 7 222-pound transfer who has three seasons of eligibility remaining and will join the Aggies for the 2023-24 season. After a solid true freshman season at Idaho, Burris was named the 2022-23 Big Sky Freshman of the Year. During his one season at Idaho, Burris averaged 8.8 points per game while shooting 52.7% from the field, 44.8% from behind the three-point line, and 87.0% at the free-throw stripe. He also pulled in 5.0 rebounds, handed out 0.5 assists, and swiped 0.5 steals per game. Prior to committing to the Aggies Burris received offers from Bakersfield, Fullerton, Colorado State, Georgia, Grand Canyon, Montana, Montana State, Nevada, Oregon State, Pacific, Pepperdine, Portland, Riverside, San Diego, San Jose State, Tulsa, UC-San Diego, Washington State, and Wyoming.
