Utah State picked up a verbal commitment this afternoon from Hutchinson Community College cornerback Mason Edwards. Edwards is a 6-foot-2 190 sophomore who will have three years to complete his final two seasons of eligibility. Edwards and the Blue Dragons play in the semi-finals of the NJCAA Football Playoff on December 2nd, against East Mississippi Community College (MS). In 13 games over the course of his two-year career at Hutchinson, Edwards has been credited with 14 tackles, 0.5 tackles-for-loss, and 4 pass breakups. He will be joining the Aggies for the 2024 season and sign his letter of intent during the early signing period that begins December 20th. At the time of his commitment, Edwards also had offers from Akron and Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Edwards is the second junior college commitment and the eighth commitment overall for the Aggies 2024 recruiting cycle, joining Casteel High (AZ) offensive lineman Camden Jury, Helix High (CA) quarterback Ryland Jessee, Lehi High (UT) tight end Grayson Brousseau, Corner Canyon High (UT) wide receiver Tate Kjar, Mater Dei High (CA) linebacker Tanner Williams, Mountain Ridge High (UT), and junior college commit Rochester C&T (MN) EDGE rush end Keshawn Johnson.
