Utah State picked up a verbal commitment tonight from university of utah transfer linebacker Jadon Pearson. Pearson is a 6-foot-3 200 redshirt junior and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. In 16 games throughout his two-year career at utah, Pearson was credited with 9 tackles. After playing in 3 games during the 2023 season Pearson chose to redshirt the remainder of the season to preserve a year of eligibility. Pearson began his collegiate career at Reedley Community College (CA), where according to 247sports, he was rated as the 34th-best junior college player nationally, the 7th-best junior college safety, and the number one junior college player in Arizona where he is originally from. He will be joining the Aggies for the 2024 season and sign his letter of intent during the early signing period that begins December 20th. When it came time for Pearson to move on from the junior college ranks, he originally held offers from Colorado State, Florida State, Fresno State, Hawaii, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Prairie View A&M, Oregon State, San Diego State, utah, and Washington State. Pearson is the first addition from the transfer portal for the Aggies and the ninth commitment overall for the Aggies 2024 recruiting cycle, joining Casteel High (AZ) offensive lineman Camden Jury, Helix High (CA) quarterback Ryland Jessee, Lehi High (UT) tight end Grayson Brousseau, Corner Canyon High (UT) wide receiver Tate Kjar, Mater Dei High (CA) linebacker Tanner Williams, Mountain Ridge High (UT) offensive lineman Adam Hawkes, and junior college commits Rochester C&T (MN) EDGE rush end Keshawn Johnson and Hutchinson CC (KS) cornerback Mason Edwards.
