Utah State has received a verbal commitment from Orem High School (UT) athlete Makai Gordon. Gordon is 6-foot-4, 225 pounds, and will join the team in 2027. Gordon’s two primary positions are tight end and outside linebacker/EDGE rush defensive end.

As a junior last season with the Tigers, Gordon played in 3 games with 3 starts and snared 3 passes for 40 yards. His squad finished with a 12-2 record and won the 5A Utah State Championship.

Gordon chose the Aggies over offers from Colorado State, Fresno State, Georgia State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, San Diego State, and Washington State.

Gordon is the Aggies sixth commitment for the Aggies recruiting class of 2027, joining Cedar Falls High (IA) linebacker Brayden Hanks and Green Canyon High (UT) offensive tackle Dakota Calverley, Westlake High (UT) wide receiver Malik Sika, Horizon High (AZ) wide receiver James Klopfenstein, and Davis High (UT) wide receiver Sam Coleman.
