Utah State has received a verbal commitment from Lehigh University linebacker Brycen Edwards. Edwards is 6-foot, 225 pounds, and following his graduation from Lehigh will join the Aggies in June and finish out his collegiate career in Logan. Edwards was on campus last weekend and made his decision in a matter of days.
As a senior with the Mountain Hawks last season, Edwards played in 12 games with 12 starts and racked up 83 tackles, 9.0 tackles-for-loss, 5.5 sacks, and 2 pass breakups. For his standout performance, Edwards was named an FCS All-American.
During his 4-year career at Lehigh, Edwards played in 41 games with 34 starts, totalling 223 tackles, 15.0 tackles-for-loss, 6.5 sacks, 1 interception, and 7 pass breakups.
Edwards chose the Aggies over offers from Ball State and Central Michigan.
Edwards is the Aggies second transfer portal commitment from the graduate transfer pool, joining Cornell offensive lineman Evan Nesmith.
